Giving nature a voice, turning justice into action

Monday, 06 October 2025
18:30 - 20:00

About the Session

In today’s society, humanity often takes centre stage, while nature remains in the background — ever-present, yet unheard. At Dryade, we believe nature deserves more than silence. We use the power of the law to give nature a voice, stepping in where ecosystems are ignored or under threat. By defending nature’s interests in court, we work towards a future where environmental integrity is not only acknowledged in principle but upheld in practice — a future that is more just, sustainable, and resilient for all. Meanwhile, Belgium is falling dangerously behind on its climate commitments. Despite clear solutions, overwhelming public support, and even a binding court ruling, real progress remains stalled. The obstacles are not technical — they are political: fragmentation, inertia, and the fear of losing elections. Klimaatzaak works to turn legal victories into meaningful change. By combining the law with citizen engagement and a shared story of hope and justice, we push for the urgent action needed to protect both people and the planet. Together, Dryade and Klimaatzaak stand for environmental justice — in the courtroom, in policy, and in public discourse.
