Sustainable Investing Academy | Impact investing with small amounts
When you think about investing, you probably mainly think of big publicly traded companies and opaque funds and ETFs. Using concrete example portfolios, he demonstrates that impact investing might be something for you too.
The Shift | What is enough ?
An open discussion about sufficiency as a strategic lever
The question of sufficiency is central to the economy of the future. It relates to planetary boundaries, reducing inequality, and also to happiness. What do we mean by ‘enough’? And how can we incorporate this concept into our lives and organisations? Join our safe space to discuss this in depth using the Jefferson method.
Spaces are limited to 15 participants for this intimate session, so we recommend arriving early!
2 – 3 PM
Make.org | The AI Construction Site:
Cracks in Democratic Foundations?
This workshop explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping our democracies, revealing both the risks it poses and the opportunities. We will examine how AI can amplify threats such as disinformation, bias, and manipulation, while also highlighting how it can strengthen democratic processes through moderation, translation, summarisation, and large‑scale civic engagement. To ground these ideas, we will showcase Make.org’s AI‑powered participatory platforms, present concrete use cases, and introduce collaborative initiatives that organisations can join to reinforce democratic resilience.
Impact Finance Belgium | Rethinking Impact Finance
Where capital, innovation, and inclusion meet to drive social and environmental change.
Money is changing the way it engages with society. Across Belgium, investors are channeling capital toward people and the planet, an estimated €108–132 billion, or 14% of total assets under management, all aimed at delivering measurable social and environmental outcomes.
But real impact takes more than big numbers. How do investors spot initiatives that are both financially sound and genuinely meaningful? And how can entrepreneurs turn a bold vision into tangible results, without compromise?
Solène Collin, Senior Project Manager at Impact Finance Belgium (IFB), will explore these questions head-on. In this session, she will introduce the work of IFB and its members, unpack the different types of impact investors, highlight the trends reshaping the sector, and share success stories that show what impact finance can achieve in practice.
Join us as we ask the question at the heart of it all: can capital truly become a force for inclusion and social progress, and what might that look like in tomorrow’s economy?
3 – 4 PM
ASHOKA | Democracy: Getting to the Roots. A Systems Change Workshop
At Ashoka, we’ve spent decades learning that lasting change never comes from treating symptoms. It comes from getting to the roots.
In this hands-on workshop, led by Ashoka Participation Hub, you’ll learn to think like a systems changemaker. Using our Problem Tree method, you’ll dig beneath the surface of a democratic challenge you care about, mapping its consequences, naming the big problem, and tracing it all the way down to the systems that keep it in place. Along the way, you’ll draw on real stories from the Ashoka network: social entrepreneurs who’ve turned root-cause thinking into real democratic impact.
Whether you’re leading an organisation, building a project, or simply worried about the state of our democracy, you’ll leave with a sharper lens and a practical tool you can use again and again. Come ready to question, to dig, and to think bigger.
Shaping Impact | ESG venture capital : the S no one talks about.
