Stories aren’t just for children. But as adults it is easy to get so wrapped up in business-speak and jargon that we forget the power of a tale well told.
Yet in the non-profit world, stories are at the heart of what we do. Very often, they are our reason ‘why’ – the core of our communications. The challenge is that we are all so busy meeting the demands of our day jobs, that it is easy to neglect the value of the words we use. When was the last time you gave your organisation’s story the time and attention it deserved?
This week, non-profit copywriter, Jennifer Ruthe, will be sharing stories from across the sector and looking at the processes behind powerful copy. From social media, to web features, grant applications and reports… You will look at what makes words work and how you – the writer – can use and adapt your story to mobilise your vision.
Jennifer has almost 10 years’ experience fundraising in health and international development. Starting out in Programme Funding, she has worked with some of the biggest foundations in the world. She now freelances as a non-profit copywriter and loves sharing her skills and experience with others.
