OPEN DOORS DAY – Impact House 4th Anniversary Celebration

août 31, 2022

At the end of the summer, the Impact House will blow out its 4th candle. For the occasion, we will open the front doors and invite everyone to join us for an afternoon of conversation and learning as the different organisations of the house will hold various workshops:

11 AM

12 PM – 1 PM

C2C Platform: Role of Cradle to Cradle (C2C) in the sustainability landscape.

Cradle to Cradle Certified® is the global standard for products that are safe, circular and responsibly made. The C2C PlatformTM is one of the 10 accredited assessment consultancies supporting companies in certifying according to the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Standard and has clients around the world from Australia up to Scandinavia, active in different sectors ranging from glasses up to building materials. The C2C Platform will give insight in the fundamentals of what circular economy is about, and how to ensure a product is safe, circular, and responsible.

MAKE.ORG: Reshaping our democratic participation

Finding the common ground in societies becomes increasingly challenging. New modes of participation – complementary to representative democracy – may counter this development. We want to explore ways of strengthening the consent of collective decisions.

12 PM – 1 PM

Shaping Impact Group: Impact measurement, a benefit rather than a burden.

This workshop will take you in 60 minutes through the essentials of impact measurement and management and why this is not a luxury but more a necessity for impact organisations, both for-profit or not-for profit.

12 PM – 1 PM

KIYO: Global citizenship.

Introduction to global citizenship and KIYOs vision and strategy to achieve this.

4 PM – 5 PM

ODS: Feeling safe in a challenging civil society environment.

As activists working in CSO, we all need to feel safe and secure in order to unfold the best of us. At least this is what recent research evidence shows. However, the environment in which we work does not provide us that sense of safety (political and human rights environment in which CSO operate, lack of capacity to achieve our ambitious goals, funding challenges, competitions for few resources, internal management gaps etc). In this workshop, ODS would like to share our experience conducting alternative participatory methods to address those tensions while increasing the sense of safety and security in our organizations.

4 PM – 5 PM

Duurzaam Beleggen Academy: How to become a sustainable (impact) investor.

Everybody can and should invest sustainable. And it doesn’t have to be complicated, nor do you need a lot of money. It’s those convictions that let Siem de Ruijter and Jasper Vekeman to start the Sustainable Investment Academy (Duurzaam Beleggen Academy). In their workshop Siem and Jasper will talk about the advantages of sustainable investing, about some of the misconceptions, and about some of the critiques, some justified others not. Furthermore, they’ll talk about the different sustainable investment strategies you can apply and how you can easily take your first steps as an impact investor without the need for a large amount of money.

📅 WHEN? Wednesday, 31st of August from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

📍 WHERE? At the Impact House, 20, Joseph II Street Brussels.
