What is the session about?
The Belgian impact investment market was worth an estimated €6-16 billion in 2021 which represents only 1-2,5% of all assets under management. The majority (around 45-75%) of this amount originates from investors mainly dedicated to impact, mainly impact funds, crowdfunding platform and microcredit institutions.
Impact Finance Belgium (IFB) is a member based organization with the goal to increase the share of impact finance to 10% of Belgian’s AUM by 2030. So what are the barriers, opportunities and challenges to include other more mainstream actors in the impact investing space such as pension funds, insurances, banks and family offices? And what are the international best practices that Belgium can import from other countries for IFB to reach its goal?
